Pet Taxi Insurance

Why do you need pet taxi cover?

Your clients trust you to provide the highest level of care for their pets while they are in your care. This trust comes with a significant responsibility to plan for the unexpected. Pet taxi insurance is crucial for protecting against unforeseen circumstances beyond your control providing vital cover to shield you from costly losses that could arise from claims related to accidents, injuries, or other incidents.

By having this insurance, you can ensure that your business remains financially secure, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional service and care to your clients and their beloved pets. These scenarios highlight the importance of pet taxi insurance.

Protects against claims should a member of the public get injured.

In case a pet in your care causes injury to a member of the public or you cause accidental damage to your clients’ property whilst delivering your services, public liability will protect you if claims arise from these incidents.

Vet expenses if accidents happen.

Even if an animal is insured by their owners any accident, illness, or loss in your care will be deemed your responsibility. Whilst no one wants harm to come to any animal it’s important to ensure you are covered to get them treatment if accidents happen.

Care, Custody, and Control offers you protection if an animal is lost, injured, becomes ill, or suffers a fatality while in your care.

Loss of a client’s key.

If you access your clients’ property and are responsible for their door keys, losing them could be a significant issue. Loss of key cover covers the cost of new keys and locks, the cost of re-setting intruder alarms and associated call-out costs, so a simple mistake doesn’t lead to substantial costs.

Protect family members who work for you.

If your close family works for you such as your husband, wife, son, daughter or other close family you can get cover to protect them against liability claims, whilst assisting with your business operation, under your policy without the need of including Employers’ Liability.

Any workers other than a family member would need to be covered under Employers’ Liability. If employees work for you, employers’ liability is a legal obligation with fines of £2500 per day for failing to comply.

Our experts explain why...

Transporting other people’s pets requires a unique combination of professional care and specialist protection. Our pet taxi insurance recognises these distinct challenges – from protecting you during transit, to covering the specific risks of handling animals in vehicles. Your role involves the safe movement of beloved pets, each with different temperaments and needs, creating unique situations that demand comprehensive coverage.

Whether you’re dealing with an incident during transport, managing an anxious pet’s behaviour, or facing claims related to delays or injuries, our specialist coverage ensures you’re protected. We understand that pet taxi services face different risks than standard pet care or traditional taxi services, which is why our policies specifically address the complexities of animal transportation, from secure handling to emergency situations.”
